This drawing in jpeg form is for a Whitney Single Planer.

However the numbers should be the same for any single planer set up to do finish planing.

In other words, the mechanics might differ in that you turn a different knob or use a different wrench, but the roll height above the bed, the chip breaker and pressure bar adjustment in relation to the cylinder should be the same.

It is important that the knife grinder be set up and maintained properly.  Grinder bars warp or sag over the years and otherwise get out of adjustment, resulting in knives not being ground parallel to the head.


Single Planer Alignment
